Abstract

The author researched into the actual conditions of toothbrushing and recognition of the "P" primary school in Pyongchonri, Baek jon - myon, Hamyang - gun, K-yongsangnam - do, from July 27 till July28, 1983.
77 pupils brushing the teeth every day were chosen,
The obtained results were as follows;
1. An average daily brushing frequency was 1.57 times a day the proportion of
the pupils who were accustomed to one brushing each day was 51 %.
2. Most of the pupils brushed only the teeth with dentifrice by the horizontal method for two and less minutes after meals.
3. The instruction in toothbrushing by parents or in the school showed much effect.
4. Most of the pupils began to brush the teeth when they were seven years old.
5. The degree of recognition of toothbrushing was very low.
So we must teach them the aim and effect of good toothbrushing.
